If you’ve ever felt under appreciated at work as a woman, you should not. Women are becoming more and more prominent in the workplace and even have unique abilities that will help them succeed even in a male-dominated jog. Noticing the inborn self empowering resources for women, that women already enjoy, is extremely robust.
Women have inherent skills, but may feel as if those talents are not pertinent to the work environment. This is incorrect. It is true that women, the same as men, still need to become masters of useful and precise work skills in order to be successful, but in order to reach the top levels of success, they have exceptional skills that organizations value. Just by using these talents, women can empower themselves to have anything and everything they wish for.
We can start with interaction, a talent that is crucialskillsessential to success. Women are natural conversationalists. Have you ever noticed how a mother “just knows” how vital it is to communicate and interrelate with her children, using fitting language and phrase-structure that a child can comprehend. This same skill, reworked subtly, functions fantastically in a professional setting. For example, a woman that finds herself supervising other people must know how to communicate with each person one on one in a style that each person can comprehend.
Helen Fisher, writer of The First Sex: The Natural Talents of Women and How They Are Changing the World, refers to this as a flair for verbal communication. Fisher expresses the growing need for the capability to speak with written and spoken words. She is quoted as saying, “At talking, women have the edge.” Fisher details how the female gender, even at very young ages “excel at… verbal fluency – rapidly finding appropriate words, phrases or sentences.” Fisher explains “Women are, on average, more articulate at saying what they say.” Women, accepting this wisdom and having faith in their natural language ability in communication will discover their confidence building.
As for instructing or coaching, women also have more ability. The nurturing traits that come more easily to women make it feasible for women to assist children discover and develop. The right combination of support, discipline, independence and limits will create a child whose self-assurance and talents are very grown up and continue to exceed that of other kids. When this type of situation is applied to the business world, a woman should do the same thing for employees.
Once more, Helen Fisher’s research as presented in The First Sex posist, “Women are, on average, more interested in cooperation, harmony, and connections – a network of support.” She also writes, “Women characteristically believe everyone can succeed in business; they take a win-win attitude in the office world.”
Most women are also skilled at multi-tasking or multi-focusing. organizing people, information, time limits and all the necessary assets becomes necessary to the success of the teams’ results.
Helen Fisher references human’s progress, even back to ancestral times, a female needed to rear vulnerable and dependent babies under highly risky surroundings demonstrating the need for the ability to do multiple things even then. I love her description: “In order to rear helpless infants, ancestral mothers needed to do a lot of things at the same time. Watch for snakes. Listen for thunder. Taste for poison. Rock the sleepy. Distract the cranky. Instruct the curious. Soothe the fearful. Inspire the tardy. Feed the hungry. Mothers had to do countless daily chores while they stoked the fire, cooked the food and talked to friends.”
Obviously, not every woman has mothering skills and not every woman is the same, but all women have the ability to recognize the abilities they possess and use them for private and professional empowerment. Women can be just as proficient at professional guidance as men. If examining what makes you a thriving woman is interesting to you, go aheah and create an inventory of all your individual characteristics – those inherent talents and empower yourself to elevate to new stratas of triumph.
